That results in me reading a lot of YA, coming of age fiction, and a lot of snarky paranormals.

So, the ability to think on one's feet, to not let the hormones override the brain, and to have a goal and the drive to get there. So, some of my favorites are: Keladry (Tamora Pierce, First Test series), Faris (Carolyn Stevermer, College of Magics), and many of the books you already mentioned (paranormals).

My reading preferences also mean that I pretty much cannot read anti-heros. I want to smack them upside the head too frequently to do anything other than toss the book aside in favor of another.Seanna Leahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10211334943923310861noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-982413406210688800.post-56901338047435935602010-08-23T20:55:07.652+02:002010-08-23T20:55:07.652+02:00I'm with you on the ditto!! They can ofcourse be tough, but sadly enough lots of writers confuse touch with bitch and/or asshole (sorry to those who are offended by my use of language)Sullivan McPighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15133432350331782496noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-982413406210688800.post-36914332032673146662010-08-23T15:07:25.595+02:002010-08-23T15:07:25.595+02:00Chris - lol, ditto is fine. :)Chris - lol, ditto is fine. :)LesleyWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14059048442986942270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-982413406210688800.post-26589472656121630902010-08-23T15:00:17.320+02:002010-08-23T15:00:17.320+02:00Not entering the contest.

I also like a self-depreciating sense of humour, an ability to laugh at themselves and recognise when they've made a complete balls-up of things. This might fit under your 'painful honesty' category. There's nothing I hate more than a smug, self-satisfied hero/heroine who is totally perfect and never wrong.Jenrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15492693697232134724noreply@blogger.com
